Background Remover
Turn a logo, graphic or photo into a clean transparent PNG — a colour eraser for solid backgrounds, plus an on-device AI mode for people. No sign-up, no watermark, and a full-size result — your image never even leaves your device.
Remove a background without uploading anything
Most background removers send your file to a server — and many gate the free result behind a sign-up, a watermark or a tiny low-resolution preview. Lumisphere doesn’t: your image is read and cut out by your own browser, so it never leaves your device, and you keep the full-size result (up to 2000 px) with no watermark and no account. Private, instant and free — perfect for turning a JPG/PNG logo on a solid colour into a clean transparent PNG.
- 1Add. Drop, paste or browse for an image.
- 2Pick. The background colour is auto-detected — or clicktap it on the image and tune the edge.
- 3Download. Save a transparent PNG, or flatten onto a colour.

Good to know
How do I remove the background from an image?
Drop your image in — the background colour is detected automatically, so you get a clean transparent PNG in a click. Tap the background to fine-tune the colour and edge, then download. For a person, switch to AI mode.
What works best?
Images on a solid or near-solid background — logos, icons, product shots on white, flat graphics. Drag the slider to compare before and after. For busy photo backgrounds, switch to the AI mode (people & portraits).
The inside of my logo’s letters is still filled — how do I clear it?
By default Lumisphere removes only the background that connects to the edges, so your subject is never eaten into and enclosed areas (the inside of an “O”) are kept. For a flat logo where you want those gaps cleared too, switch off “Keep holes” (or tap the “Logo / hard edge” preset).
Is it really private?
Yes. Everything happens in your browser — there is no upload and nothing is stored on a server. You can even use it offline once the page has loaded.
Is there a watermark, sign-up or resolution limit?
No to all three. Lumisphere adds no watermark, needs no account, and gives you the full-size cut-out (up to 2000 px on the longest side) — not the shrunken, watermarked preview many free removers hand out. It’s processed on your device, so there’s no upload either.
Why are the edges fuzzy or haloed?
Raise Softness for a smoother edge, and keep “Clean edges” on to unmix the old background colour out of the outline.
Two ways to cut out, and when each one wins
There are really two jobs hiding behind “remove the background”, and Lumisphere gives you a tool for each. The colour eraser wipes one flat backdrop — it’s the right pick for logos, icons, product shots on white and any graphic with crisp, hard edges, because it can clear the colour exactly without softening the outline. The on-device AI mode is built for the harder case: a person, a portrait, wind-blown hair or a busy photographic scene where no single colour defines the background. Match the mode to the picture and the cut-out comes out clean rather than fought-for.
Why nothing here ever leaves your device
Every pixel is read, analysed and erased by your own browser, so your image is never uploaded to a server, queued, logged or stored — you can even work offline once the page has loaded. That privacy is also why there’s no watermark stamped on the result and no account to create: there’s no business model sitting between you and the file. You keep the full-resolution PNG (up to 2000 px on the longest side), not a shrunken preview. Ordinary JPGs and PNGs work best; very low-quality JPGs add coloured speckle at the edges, which the cleanup toggles tidy up.
